I grew up at Traquair in Peeblesshire. After reading Law at the University of Glasgow I qualified as a lawyer and worked in Glasgow for a couple of years before moving with my wife to Kelso where our two daughters were born.
Working mainly in Kelso I spent the last ten years of my legal career as senior partner of Taits Solicitors and then retired from full-time practice. I now do voluntary work, attend to our garden, maintain some old motorcycles and write.
I joined the Scottish Greens because how we treat our environment is important to me and as a Representative for Kelso and District, protecting and improving the place we live as a place to live will be my priority.
