In March, Scottish Borders Greens hosted a public talk by John Seed of the Woodend Farming Partnership: Restoring Rural Resilience with Regenerative Farming and Renewable Energy.
John set out how Borders farms can build healthier soils, cut costs and produce their own clean energy, while still producing good food. It was a practical, hopeful evening, and a reminder that farmers are on the front line of both the climate and nature emergencies.
The Scottish Greens want a just transition for farmers and farm workers, with support for nature-friendly farming, local food networks and small family farms that can stay viable for the long term.
