FOR BERWICKSHIRE, ROXBURGH AND SELKIRK
UK GENERAL ELECTION 2024
I am very proud to have been chosen to stand for the Scottish Green Party in Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk for the forthcoming Westminster election.
Having been elected as the first Green councillor in South Scotland in 2022 I am keen to see what kind of impact the Greens can make in the region in the Westminster election with me as their candidate.
I am glad to be able to offer people the chance to vote for a Green candidate who will put the climate emergency and social justice at the heart of the debate.
It is time for people who care about Green issues to vote with their principles rather than tactically for another party. We can then keep the climate crisis on the political agenda for the whole electoral cycle, rather than seeing it drop out of sight when a Westminster election comes around.
Support for both the SNP and the Conservatives is dropping across the country and the region and there is no clear winner evident in this constituency, so I would ask those who care about our planet, rather than trying to second guess where your vote should go, use it to vote Green and send a message to Westminster that the climate emergency is very much a live issue for people in the Borders. This is especially important at a time when other parties in the UK are rolling back on their pledges to help address climate breakdown.
